SummerCon I - 2008 (Event Summary) Well the 1st SummerCon has been run and it was a successful event. With only a week's promotion, and exclusively internally, the event managed to attract 70+ people over the 2 days. Gaming took place from 10am till Midnight on the Saturday and from 10am till 6pm on the Sunday. Joe from Alternate Worlds did another great job in providing events for Yu-Gi-Oh, L5R, Pirates and Vs. The Boardgamers turned up in great numbers and were supported by Sam and Sacha from EuroGamesFest. In all a total of 33 games (22 unique games) were played. The Tournament Game was a 3 Lap Race of Formula De. A total of 8 drivers took to the track with Brett Cuneo taking out the trophy with relative ease. A full list of what was played can be found in the following table -
The tabletop guys got a full day of gaming in on the Saturday with 40K being the most common system. Several guys came back for a casual game on the Sunday. We would also like to thank Joe and Anita who were our hosts at The Hume Inn. Joe manned the bar alost all weekend and was very helpful. We look forward to many more events at The Hume Inn.
